If a list were to surface containing 10 things I'll never hear, one of them would be: "you have great/fabulous/amazing/awesome/neat/stylish hair." I needn't go on about its texture, color, appearance or length except to say in addition to being the hair runt in my family, I am also not a style maven of anything hair (or fashion, but this blog is about hair). During the Hurricane Ike associated power outage, numerous moms apologized for their "Ike look" having been reduced to ponytails or other easy up hair that did not require the use of a "tool." For me, it was "business as usual," my hair didn't even know there was a hurricane! This picture was taken just minutes ago. FYI - it's after lunch, I've been to the preschool twice, to the park, you get the idea. I need change. Taking suggestions. But -- you must suggest something that can be done with minimal upkeep and does not look like the mobs of women in my ward with the concave bob (it's v. cute & stylish, I'm just too behind the times to get it). So, this could be your chance to start the next hair trend by making me over...come on I know someone out there has an idea! Nothing is off limits - if your suggestion works out, good hair karma will follow! Save The Hair!
As a p.s. to my hair, a v. special no thanks to the"baby hair" that shows up AFTER you give birth at the crown of your forehead and apparently takes one hundred years to grow in.

You know what? I forgot to tell you how cute you looked at church the other night with those braids in your hair! Very fun!
Hmm, does your hair have natural wave to it, or is it stick straight (I honestly don't remember it down to see it, sorry).
Do you want to keep it down, or wear it up? Do you want it long or short?
I think some long layers would look great on you! You have an oval face, so you can get away with pretty much any hairstyle!
As far as the concave bob-- I am a total follower in this trend, especially when I found out how stinkin' easy it is to keep up.
My blow-dry time went from 30 minutes to 10! Plus, it keeps my round face from looking too fat! :)
Good luck in the hair quest!
well hello there, april!!! how come i don't know about this blog??? i just saw you on linz's blog. i'm excited to get the scoop on you! hope you guys are doing well! we sure miss you. mexico city is... well, it's something. :)
oh and with the hair thing... i think you always look cute, but i'm not the right person to ask. i'm a ponytail girl, myself.
April,
Find a gay hairstylist, that should fix any problems you think you might be having with your hair.
Chris
Hey April! So fun to find your blog! It will be fun to keep up with your cute family. I am definitely no help in the hair department -- and I have 3 girls!
this is what I do: go to a salon and ask for an appt. w/ a "senior stylist" then tell them to give you something more hip but say you do NOT spend time doing your hair in the morning ... they'll know exactly what to do-
You know I NEVER did my hair and it always dried just fine, right?
Go to Beautyriot.com. They have a ton of ideas. Some (not a lot) of long layers work for my hair -you've got a lot of options! What do you think of long, side bangs? Good luck!
ps - I'm with NOelle, also. Ponytails are a necessity at the end of the day for me. After all, this is Houston! Humidity rules! (and ruins hair).
I'm a hair freak, and I've never thought there was anything wrong with your hair. Ponytails are the best and I don't see anything wrong with them. Just make it pretty on Sunday and the rest of the week, who cares.
Or you can be like me--surf through hundreds of hairstyles then go to the stylist and ask for the same cut! :o) You should try long layers and then maybe a little curl/wave at the bottom every now and then. But the gay hairstylist is a good idea too.
I think that an easy thing to do is to just add some bright highlights around your face and that will freshen everything up. Get some nice long layers also an easy transition.
However, if you are like me and have very little hair, I have to stick to very long layers or my hair looks way too thin. I changed mine up by adding bangs a couple of years ago. It is enough to give me options, but I don't have to lose the ease of wearing a ponytail literally everyday of my life.
P.S. Amen to your P.S. What's up with that post-natal hair loss, anyways? Mine finally grew out (mostly) and now I'm about to lose it all again.
What are you talking about? I've always loved your hair! My fave was when you put the curlers in it. Maybe that is too high school for you though. :) Truly, you looked amazing and I saw you just a few weeks ago.
I think the mullett might be making a come back. At least I hope it is for my baby's sake. :)
This site will let you upload a photo and try out styles before you chop off any hair. http://www.instyle.com/instyle/makeover/
Good luck. I'm going to upload my photo and see what style would look good on me. :)

I am 100% with you...no Ike change for me...wet hair goes into the ponytail and that's it. I just don't care enough to do anything else. I have been thinking about getting a perm (even though that sounds so 80s)...but that way it could have curl and I still wouldn't have to dry it. Don't know if you would ever consider that. I think you look fabulous. Long live 3 min. hair!
Wow, who would have thought hair would inspire so many comments. I guess we all spend a great deal of time thinking about our hair :o)
Although I think Chris has the best suggestion yet. Although I have tried that and it didn't help. I find straight men to be the best hairstylists. They know what they like to see anyway. I too have major hair issues and have come to the conclusion that it is just my lot in life to have bad hair.
